Alexandre Coelho Lima was born in Porto in 1965 and currently lives in Guimarães. As architect, he has been part of the Pitagoras Group since 1995, where he develops his professional activity.
His interest in photography dates back to his teenage years, but it was with his entry onto Instagram in 2012 that his photographic practice gained new momentum. He began sharing images regularly and was featured on various platforms. Over time, this activity became almost obsessive, reflecting not only his personality but also his training as an architect.
Without confining himself to a single theme, his work moves mainly between street photography and architectural photography. In the former, he favors minimalist compositions, where just a few elements are enough to tell a story. The human presence, almost always solitary, appears in dialogue with space, buildings, and surroundings. In the latter, his gaze lingers on details: a façade, a window, a precise cut, always with an eye for formal rigor.
Color and black-and-white coexist in his work, though the latter is often chosen to highlight form, eliminating chromatic “noise.” While his photography may suggest a methodical approach, the act of photographing is, for him, instinctive and immediate, a spontaneous record of whatever catches his eye.
In 2018, he was recognized by Geradorr as the Best Instagrammer of 2017.
He has participated in several group exhibitions and held solo shows in 2018 at Pequena Galeria, Lisbon, and in 2025 in Guimarães with the exhibition In Vivo .

At first glance, he walks alone.
But the shadow tells a different story.
A hand extended — a gesture of care, or maybe attachment,
that exists only where the light does not reach.
How often do we move forward, trusting in bonds already broken?
How often is trust just a reflection of what we hope is real?
Is Trust a Trick?
Or is it hope, dressed in shadow?
